Overwhelmed by cataract surgery choices?

You’re not alone.

Your eyesight is precious.

Cataract technology is complex.

Surgical choices are permanent.

With such high stakes, you could use a Cataract Guide.

  • ALL YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED

Modern cataract surgery is a marvel of technology. Exciting advances have created increased accuracy as well as increased complexity. In addition to deciding to have surgery at all (no small thing in itself!), there are now choices about laser surgery, a vast array of lens implants, and more. It’s a lot to sort through. You will naturally have a lot of questions.

  • GUIDED BY A CATARACT SURGEON

I’m an experienced eye surgeon who specialized in cataract surgery for years and then changed careers to pursue other interests. I’ve helped friends and family understand their cataract surgeries over time, and I’ve seen how overwhelming the choices can be. Everyone deserves peace of mind as they go through surgery. I’m here to be a cataract guide for you.

  • I HAVE TIME TO TALK TO YOU

Today’s doctors are pressed for time. Your cataract surgeon would love to explain every detail to you. They simply don’t have the time to do so. You deserve to have every single question answered. My time is focused on giving you the clarity you need in order to make the best decisions for your unique situation.

How Cataract Guidance Works:

  1. Meet with your cataract surgeon/ receive your surgical recommendations

  2. Meet with me, your Cataract Guide, to answer questions and help you understand your surgical choices.

  3. Finalize your cataract surgery plans with your eye doctor.

**IMPORTANT: I am not providing medical advice. Your eye doctor is providing medical advice, and I am helping you understand that advice.

  • There are times when it can be helpful to discuss your vision goals with me prior to meeting with your surgeon. This discussion with me can help you be clear about what you want out of the cataract surgery when talking with the surgeon. For example, understanding the difference between single distance vision, monovision and multifocal lens implants is sometimes helpful so you can tell the surgeon what you want from the beginning of the process.
